Cola Companies Assault New York Beverage Ban
The Public hearing on New York’s proposed Ban on fountain beverages over 16 oz is only a week away. The movie theater concession groups, Coca-Cola and Pepsi have launched a marketing campaign against the proposed city-wide ban. The ban could mean a loss in the millions for soft drink manufacturers. Fountain drinks using carbination and syrup mixture is among the most profitable (highest markup) of any product anywhere. A $2 fountain drink could actually cost only pennies.
